We were told they would accommodate us if we waited until Saturday. Wednesday, when we arrived, we immediately requested a change of rooms. No safe in my room so they put one in the top of the closet, not attached to anything. I paid extra for balconies, but why? There is no ocean view, so a waste of money. My son and his wife had two beds instead of a king. Check in was painfully long and we finally got stuck far apart on different floors. just don't lose your beach towel! We found the front desk staff were not friendly unless you spoke Spanish, and difficult to deal with, but the other staff - including the manager, were all wonderful. Apparently lots of people 'preferred' to pay for a taxi as they missed our bus. ![]() If you have a vacation package, just keep walking past them and find your agent outside the airport who will guide you to your bus to take you to your resort. I forgot how aggressive the taxi people are inside the airport in Puerto Vallarta. Also lots of local salespeople who continually ask you to buy things on the beach - hard to say no to kids. The beach is great for walking, but ended up just going to the left every day as there are too many condo salesmen the other direction. Didn't manage to get to the Mexican as it was the most popular, but there was lots of Mexican food at the buffet. The a la cartes are good also - Italian, and a seafood one that they put outside right overlooking the ocean was absolutely lovely. The food is very good at the buffet, and the omelet lady in the mornings is very efficient and honestly a delight. The resort is older but nicely maintained, not luxurious but the location makes up for it.
